Can we ever know what’s happening without seeing the bigger picture?

This photography brief asks young people to create an image that shows how things we see online may not always be what they seem.

Taking a photo allows us to choose what other people get to see, and what information gets left out. Those decisions might affect how other people interpret the photo. If we were able to ‘look outside the frame’, what else would we know?
