This Safer Internet Day we have a host of events happening throughout the UK, all of them talking about the theme of reliability online and online safety. To make sure you know where to be on the day, we have put together a schedule of events that outlines what event is happening, where it’s taking place and at what time. Join us on the 9th of February and take part in our various remote sessions this Safer Internet Day.
10am Celebrating Safer Internet Day 2021 in Wales – Competition Awards Ceremony
This virtual event will celebrate all the fantastic winners of the Tackling Misinformation Digital Storytelling competition. Join in the morning to hear who the winners are, along with messages from David Wright (Director of UK Safer Internet Centre) and Kirsty Williams MS (Minister of Education). 1:30pm Safer Internet Day with Liverpool FC
Returning for another year, Liverpool FC will be joining us for a live event this Safer Internet Day to talk about the theme of reliability online. With their support, this important topic around online safety will reach as many young people as possible. This event will take place on the UK Safer Internet Centre Youtube Channel.
3:00pm Safer Internet Day in Scotland
Hear from the Minister for Children and Young People, Maree Todd, about why Safer Internet day is so important in Scotland. Plus, Young Scot’s #DigiKnow? Steering Group give their top tips to avoid becoming a victim of fraud. Jess McBeath, SWGfL consultant in Scotland also explains the difference between mis- and disinformation.
4:00PM Safer Internet Day Live Q & A with UKSIC Helpline
On 9th February at 4:00pm the Professionals Online Safety Helpline (POSH) as part of the UK Safer Internet Centre is running a live Q & A event on the UKSIC Facebook page where professionals can get their questions answered by our helpline practitioners for Safer Internet Day.
