Carolyn Bunting, CEO, Internet Matters
Safer Internet Day is an incredibly important initiative, which Internet Matters is delighted to support. The UK theme for this year’s Safer Internet Day is particularly poignant. Unfortunately fake news and misinformation is on the rise, and separating fact from fiction isn’t always easy.
At a time when many of our young people are at home and on devices more than ever before, making sure they have a safe, positive experience where they’re able to think critically about what they see online has never been more important. It is therefore essential that we have a collaborative approach to online safety and work together with government, industry, schools and parents/carers to share this responsibility – so our children can benefit from the fantastic opportunities the online world has to offer.
