Children and Families Minister, Will Quince
“The virtual world holds so many benefits for young people, from keeping in touch with friends to escaping to virtual worlds through online gaming, but it is our collective responsibility as adults to ensure that they understand how to do this safely.
“Safer Internet Day is so important in helping to raise awareness of online safety, but also in encouraging other organisations and politicians like myself to put children’s experiences at the heart of our work.
“While most young people will have positive experiences online, this won’t be the case for everyone. Our Relationships, Sex, and Health Education curriculum is teaching young people about respectful relationships both in person but also online, as well as helping them navigate the online world safely.”
