Dame Rachel de Souza, Children’s Commissioner for England
“I am very proud to support Safer Internet Day 2023. This year’s focus on children’s voices in digital safety is vital.
As Children’s Commissioner my key responsibility is to make sure children’s views, voices and experiences are heard by adults, in order to create the digital world they deserve and which is safe. It is my privilege as Commissioner to share children’s experiences with Parliament, Ministers, and officials, as well as with representatives of tech firms and urging them to take action now.
The passage of the Online Safety Bill gives us an enormous opportunity this year to engage and empower young people. I look forward to working with the Safer Internet Centre to make the online world a more positive space for young users, elevating their views, experiences, and their hopes for the future.”
