Graeme Biggar, Director General of the National Crime Agency, NCA

“Here at the National Crime Agency we work tirelessly to protect children and young people and keep them from harm. As online technology is increasingly a part of every aspect of daily life, it is more important than ever to help our children to be safer online.
We are perhaps best known for our relentless pursuit of child sex offenders, both on the open and dark web. But we also work hard to equip children with the skills and knowledge they need to stay safer online. Our CEOP Education team is helping professionals and families across the UK to do just that, providing resources and information for children from 4 to 18 years old. This year they have launched a new website for 4 to 7 year olds, helping parents and carers to start regular, age-appropriate and balanced conversations about life online early on.
On this Safer Internet Day, and beyond, I encourage us all to make space for regular conversations with children and young people about life online. To learn more, use the Safer Internet Day activities and visit the CEOP Education website.”
