Safer Internet Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits that being online brings to children and young people. Recent research conducted by the UEL Institute for Connected Communities for OFCOM identified benefits under the broad headings of knowledge, expression, connection and enjoyment. Ensuring that the Internet is a safe place for children and one in which they can thrive, is a shared responsibility that can only be achieved through effective social, safety tech, educational and strong regulatory solutions.
