‘The Internet continues to provide great opportunities for children and young people to communicate, collaborate, learn, enjoy new experiences and visit virtual worlds. Our research continues to highlight the centrality and importance of the internet in the lives of children, but new digital frontiers such as the metaverse and AI can bring different forms of risk. Understanding the childs perspective and experience is key in mitigating evolving risk along with a multi- faceted approach to safety that includes effective legislation, educational awareness raising and safety by design underpinned by good research evidence’
