Just 20 days to go until Safer Internet Day!
With less than three weeks to go until Safer Internet Day 2019 we are sharing all of the things you can do now to celebrate the day!
The day offers the opportunity to highlight the positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet.
What you can do now
There are some key things that you can do right now to get involved and help make Safer Internet Day 2019 the biggest yet!
- Register as a supporter Join over 700 organisations, schools, football clubs and more across the UK by signing up as a Safer Internet Day supporter!
By signing up as a supporter and telling us a bit more about your plans for the day you will appear on our map of the UK which demonstrates the fantastic range and scope of activities happening across the country! Without the amazing work of all of the safer internet day supporters we wouldn’t be able to reach and inspire such a fantastic number of young people as a result of Safer Internet Day. If you want some inspiration for Safer Internet Day why not have a look at the range of great things happening all across the UK.
- Spread the word using the Safer Internet Day Campaign Toolkit and social media resources We have created some resources to help you get involved in the day, and ways in which you can help us to make Safer Internet Day 2019 the biggest yet! The campaign toolkit is created each year to help you and your organisation to get involved in Safer Internet Day by spreading the word and raising awareness. The campaign toolkit contains some key things to help you do this, including banners, images, template text and more.
We also have some things that you can do now to help us spread the word on social media. These include a template to use offline, tweets to share now and the below tweet to schedule for 8am on the 5th February.

- Download and use our resources and films
For Safer Internet Day we have created some free resources and films for all age groups which look at the theme of consent online.
We have created Education Packs, which are tailored made for 3-7s, 7-11s, 11-14s, 14-18s and parents and carers, along with some guidance for educators. Available in English and Welsh these free packs include lesson plans, posters, presentations, activities and more!
Our Safer Internet Day TV 2019 films have been produced to complement the Safer Internet Day Education Packs. The films act as an extension of the packs and as such aim to be conversation starters around the topic of consent in a digital world. They could be used at the beginning of a session focused on Safer Internet Day to kickstart discussions and pave the way for further activities from the Education Packs.
