SWGfL, a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre, have launched a new Digital Wellbeing page that helps professionals, parents and carers support young people as they continue to develop their online lives. Here, we look at what the page includes and the different digital wellbeing factors that are being explored.

More about the Digital Wellbeing Page

Digital Wellbeing relates to how the use of digital technology including personal devices, social media, and other apps, can impact on an individual’s life.

As more and more young people continue to use digital environments, it’s important for parents, carers, and professionals to understand the different factors that can impact digital wellbeing, and provide support to those in need.

The dedicated page from SWGfL features a wide variety of informative resources, guidance, and articles, to help develop this understanding.

The new topics page follows February’s exploration into the world of online safety and gaming, and across the next couple of months will be delving into the meaning of digital wellbeing, how it affects young people and the factors that can impact digital wellbeing.

The Digital Wellbeing ‘hub’ explores the following:

Alongside these informative articles, the topics hub highlights a range of tools and services to help raise awareness and encourage positive digital wellbeing; including wellbeing resources from ProjectEVOLVE.

In addition to this, those with young people in their care can find out more about the latest social media features that can help those around them to manage their wellbeing, as they continue to use these platforms.
