Anti-Bullying Week film competition

30 Jun 2016 UK SIC

As part of Anti-Bullying Week 2016 (14th â€“ 18th November), the Anti-Bullying Alliance are inviting all UK primary and secondary schools to enter their film competition to make the official Anti-Bullying Week film!

This year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme is Power for Good and includes the following key aims:

  • To support children and young people to use their Power for Good â€“ by understanding the ways in which they are powerful and encouraging individual and collective action to stop bullying and create the best world possible
  • To help parents and carers to use their Power for Good â€“ through supporting children with issues relating to bullying and working together with schools to stop bullying
  • To encourage all teachers, school support staff and youth workers to use their Power for Good â€“ by valuing the difference they can make in a child’s life, and taking individual and collective action to prevent bullying and create safe environments where children can thrive.

The Anti-Bullying Week film competition is a great way to get young people thinking about how they can use their Power for Good to help stop bullying.

Think you’ve got what it takes to create the official film for Anti-Bullying Week 2016?  Here’s what you need to do…

  • Create a film that shares how important it is to use our Power for Good to stop bullying and create the best world possible.  The style is up to you!  Why not think about creating a story, animation, song, poem, rap or musical piece.  The video clip should be no more than 2 minutes long – and doesn’t have to be filmed professionally – it can even be filmed on a phone. Note: It’s important to remember that both primary and secondary schools use our resources so please make sure the content is suitable for all ages.
  • Ensure you’re film includes the official Anti-Bullying Week logo and if you want to reference hashtags please use #antibullyingweek and/or #powerforgood.
  • Send your film along with the completed entry form via WeTransfer, email or post (more details here) by 5pm on Sunday 31st July.
