Less than one month until Safer Internet Day 2023 – what you can do!
Safer Internet Day 2023 Is on Tuesday 7th February and will be celebrated in the UK with the theme ‘Want to talk about? Making space for conversations about life online’. With just under one month to go, we look at all the things you can do to get involved.
Register as a supporter
The best way to show your support of Safer Internet Day is by signing up as a supporter.
We are keen to break last year’s unprecedented total of 3,424 – but we need your help. All you need to do is submit what your school, charity or organisation will be doing for Safer Internet Day.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, feel free to take a look at our live supporters list and see what other organisations are up to!
Access the free resources
If you’re planning to deliver sessions to young people this Safer Internet Day, then download the UK Safer Internet Centre’s free education resources!
Download the pack to access a guide to using the lesson plans, assembly slides, activities, things to share on social media, and further guidance for educators. We have four different packs tailored to specific groups: ages 3-7, 7-11, 11-14 and 14-18.
All resources are also available to download in Welsh.
Take a look at our video wall
As part of the Safer Internet Day 2023 campaign, we want to hear young people’s voices about their lives online.
We have created a video wall on our website where any young person aged 7-18 can upload a short film they have created about their online experiences – what they like, what they don’t like and what they would change if they could on the internet.
To find out more about how young people can create their own film and share it on our video wall, visit our Video wall page.
Advice for parents and carers
We are also happy to share our brand new advice pages for parents and carers to help them start meaningful conversations this Safer Internet Day. These pages cover key topics such as how to have a difficult conversation and what to do if something goes wrong.
Social media pack
We want to share all of the great things that organisations and schools like yours are doing to celebrate Safer Internet Day, and a great way to do that is by sharing what you are doing on social media!
From easy click-to-tweet links, to a graphics folder for you to download, and even a social media template, there’s so much to get stuck into and share to the world.
