26 Mar 2024 UK SIC

Join our Youth Advisory Board to shape the work of Childnet and the UK Safer Internet Centre. Want to know more about the role and what you have to do to get involved? This blog will hopefully answer some of your questions.

What is the role?

In this role you will collaborate with young people from across the UK making a difference in how online safety is talked about and taught at all levels.

The board regularly meet online to chat as a group about online safety issues affecting young people, and you will actively contribute to the resources we create.

Childnet will also offer you various opportunities throughout the year, including a chance to represent Childnet nationally, leading the way in speaking out about important online issues.

Who can apply?

Applications are open for any young people living in the UK who are aged between 13-17 years old. We are looking for young people who are active online and passionate about making the internet a safer and more positive environment for everyone. We want to hear from you if you:

  • Are confident sharing your opinion
  • Are respectful and open to other perspectives
  • Want to celebrate the opportunities being online has to offer,
  • Want to champion change that can make a real difference to young people’s online experiences

How to apply?

The application form to join our youth advisory board has two parts:

  • Information about you and your parent or carer
  • Questions to find out more about you and your interest in online safety

Reponses to the question on the form can either be written or send in a voice recording – whichever you would prefer! To find out more and apply please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YAB24-25
