160: The Regulation of Internet Pornography: What a Survey of Under-18s Tells Us About the Necessity for and Potential Efficacy of Emerging Legislative Approaches

Dr Neil Thurman & Professor Fabian Obster, LMU Munich (2021)

A summary of the results of a large-scale quantitative study examining the proportion of adolescents (16- and 17-year-olds) in the UK that have seen sexually explicit videos or pictures. It also explored the media platforms they use to view pornography and how much time they spend visiting dedicated pornographic websites. The data analysed in the study resulted from a survey of 16-and 17-year-olds in the UK (N = 1,001) conducted in June 2019.
