The UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC) offers a programme of Online Safety Clinics, designed to provide low-cost, accessible online safety training tailored for safeguarding leads, educators, and governors. These clinics aim to equip participants with the latest knowledge and practical strategies to address online risks and protect children and young people in digital environments. Delivered by experts from SWGfL, a founding partner of UKSIC, the sessions cover essential topics such as filtering and monitoring requirements, AI in Education, intimate image abuse and sextortion and harmful sexual behaviour, ensuring that attendees can effectively support their communities in navigating the online world safely.
Online Safety Live is a programme of online safety briefings designed exclusively for professionals working with children and young people. Delivered across the whole of the UK by SWGfL (South West Grid for Learning). As a charitable trust, our aim is to bring these events locally to you or online at a very low cost to attendees. We deliver to you the very latest in online safety, including the latest issues, trends, research, resources and advice. Attendees have free access to the presentation, resources and research following the event.
“That was genuinely one of the most inspiring, informative and invaluable CPD sessions I have ever been to in 11 years of teaching. Filtering and Monitoring Sessions
The UK Safer Internet Centre, on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE), delivered a series of online webinars on filtering and monitoring. The webinars informed schools and colleges in England about the changes to Keeping children safe in education which comes into force from September 2023 as well as the DfE’s new filtering and monitoring standards which were published in 2023.
These five, 30-minute sessions are for professionals in England working with children and young people. Specifically, they will support schools and colleges to be able to meet the filtering and monitoring standards in order to better protect children and young people online.
“It was a very interesting and informative session with an abundance of helpful online resources”
“Thank you for the information you shared I found it really helpful – especially looking at where to get resources and help!”
“I am a Governor with educational background. The training received was comprehensive, enlightening and relevant. I have already contacted the school and recommended the training for members of staff”
