SWGfL release podcast episode around online wellbeing and young people
Our partners at SWGfL have just released their latest episode on their podcast series Interface. Joined by guest speaker Catherine Knibbs, UKCP accredited psychotherapist and cyber trauma expert, this episode discusses online wellbeing and young people with discussion around how they can develop healthier relationships with technology. Jess McBeath and young presenter Ailish join in for their own thoughts around the topic.
The impact of technology is discussed along with how device attachments can be made through not wanting to miss out, maintaining communication with others and keeping up-to-date on current trends. The presenters talk about how technology can distract us when we are carrying out our everyday tasks as well as how the speed of information we receive becomes an important factor as a result of using technology and how this can impact concentration in classrooms.
The episode also highlights what support is available for schools and professionals who work with children and young people. This includes the digital literacy toolkit ProjectEVOLVE and the Digital Wellbeing hub that contains a wealth of information for schools.
