Get back to school ready with these online safety resources
Childnet, a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre, have created this blog with advice around resources to help you get back to school ready.
The online safety calendar
Childnet’s newly redesigned online safety calendar is designed to help educators to keep on top of all the key awareness days, events and milestones throughout the academic year.
Look at online safety across the curriculum
Online safety affects a lot of different aspects of young people’s online lives, and by visiting a topic in different subject areas draws multiple links to the world around your pupils, really bringing their learning to life.
We have created two short leaflets, which look at the ways to embed online safety across their education setting.
Moving on Up!
The Moving on Up toolkit with videos and lesson plans for adults helps young people aged 10-13 with the online aspects of moving to secondary school.
The resources includes films and information about situations young people may face online such as managing friend requests, group chats and the pressure to fit in. There are also accompanying resources for parents and carers.
Save the date for Safer Internet Day
We are happy to announce that Safer Internet Day 2023 will take place on 7th February!
This year’s theme is yet to be announced but keep your eyes peeled for the latest at saferinternetday.org.uk
