IWF launches #Every5Minutes: a campaign against child sexual abuse images online
For too many children, the ordeal of sexual abuse doesn’t end when the abuse stops. The recording, viewing and sharing of countless images online means victims suffer humiliation and misery every time someone clicks on a photo or video of their abuse. IWF’s team of world-class analysts work tirelessly to beat the harmful side of technology by harnessing cutting-edge tools to stop this cruel abuse.
IWF is calling on companies, organisations and individuals in Cambridgeshire, and further afield, to support this crucial work through membership, charitable partnership or by donating. There are plenty of ways people and organizations can take part of this campaign.
- Make a single or regular donation personally to the IWF online or by texting FIVE, TEN or TWENTY to 70460 to donate £5, £10 or £20* and help a victim of child sexual abuse.
- Visit iwf.org.uk/every5minutes to find out how your company can benefit from working with the IWF while supporting victims of sexual abuse in childhood.
- Share our campaign messages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, including the campaign link and hashtag #Every5Minutes iwf.org.uk/Every5Minutes.
- Spread the word to colleagues and friends about the first IWF Cambridge Hackathon on 21 March. Programmers, coders, developers or anyone with great technical skills is welcome to help the IWF develop new tech tools for their analysts to use in the fight against child sexual abuse online. Sign up here.
Together we can make a real difference to the lives of children who are continually victimised by sexual abuse imagery being shared online.
