Online Safety Clinics – New Events

SWGfL and the UK Safer Internet Centre have announced a series of new Online Safety Clinics covering a range of online safety topics, including filtering and monitoring, AI in education, and intimate image abuse. These 90-minute sessions offer participants the chance to delve into key online safety issues, ask questions, and gain expert insights.

The upcoming sessions include:

  • Filtering and Monitoring (Thursday, 7 March): Tailored for safeguarding leads, governors, and educators, this workshop aims to ensure organisations meet updated statutory obligations as per KCSIE 2023 and the March 2023 DfE Filtering and Monitoring Standards. It provides an in-depth explanation of roles and responsibilities, the distinction between filtering and monitoring, and essential criteria for providers to meet standards.

  • AI in Education – Decoding the Hype (Wednesday, 17 April): Led by Ken Corish, deputy CEO of SWGfL and an expert in online safeguarding and children’s online behaviours, this clinic examines Generative AI, exploring its definition, current guidance, opportunities, potential issues, and the future of AI in education.

In addition, SWGfL and the UK Safer Internet Centre have announced a new series of Online Safety Live sessions across the UK throughout February and March. These sessions provide further opportunities to learn about promoting online safety awareness in communities.
