Simon Bailey, Chief Constable & Lead for Child Protection, National Police Chiefs’ Council

As children spend more time online for both learning and fun it is even more vital that they are educated and empowered to stay safe. There are simple steps we can all take to make the web a better place for our children and Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity to highlight those.

Alongside parents taking measures to protect their children online, the police service will continue to target those intent on abusing and exploiting young people on the internet.

Keeping children safe both offline and online is a key priority for policing and we work closely with the National Crime Agency to achieve this.
