This year’s theme of ‘Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’ is particularly timely. AI offers enormous benefits and opportunities when it comes to teaching and learning, but also risks and pitfalls, and it’s important that pupils and teachers get the support they need to carefully navigate use of this technology.

Safer Internet Day provides an invaluable opportunity for pupils to consider the potential and limits of AI in a safe and supportive environment.

NAHT continues to campaign for greater safeguards for children and young people online and is pressing government to ensure that schools receive ongoing guidance, support and funded training to support pupils on the safe and beneficial use of AI.”
