Sir Peter Wanless, CEO, NSPCC

We’re proud to support Safer Internet Day again and help increase its reach and impact. We know that during the pandemic gaming platforms became an important part of daily life for many young people, helping them stay connected with friends and provide welcome entertainment amidst much anxiety for many families.  But there are risks in a world that has yet to design even some of the most basic child protection checks into what is on offer. That’s why it’s vital that parents and carers have regular and open conversations with children and young people about what they’re doing online and who they’re speaking to. Safer Internet Day is a great reminder of that.
