Stand Up to Bullying Day

28 Jun 2016 UK SIC

On the 5th July The Diana Award are inviting schools, organisations and individuals to get involved in Stand Up to Bullying Day!

The day aims to raise public awareness about bullying and its long term effects, create understanding about our collective role in tackling bullying and empower the public with the tools to stand up to bullying; wherever they are.

To do this The Diana Award have created campaign packs for schools and organisations as well as a social media media toolkit that can all be found on their Get Involved page.

The Stand Up to Bullying Day website also contains advice for young people, teachers, parents and organisations and includes an article by UK Safer Internet Centre partners, Childnet, for teachers about how to deal with cyberbullying

We believe it is critical that teachers and professionals understand cyberbullying and know how to prevent and respond to cyberbullying incidents.  In this article teachers will find tips and guidance to support them.

Stand Up to Bullying Day is a campaign that focuses on childhood bullying as well as bullying in the wider community and The Diana Award are encouraging the nation to take a stand against bullying and demonstrate everyone has a role to play in tackling it!  For more information about how to get involved visit: http://www.standuptobullying.co.uk/
